515 Bellevue Ave E. Seattle, WA 98109
1 Bedroom 1 Bathroom 640 Square Feet
Many of you that follow me on instagram (@bkhighfive) know that I have a thing for mid-century buildings. I was super excited to visit the JanTun on Bellevue Ave here in Seattle the other day. According to the property management company, Batchel, the JanTun was built in the mid 1950s. They’ve done a great remodel recently, if you couldn’t tell by the modern colors. All in all, I think they are doing a solid job. The black exterior works well with the rock fascia and bold accent colors.
The JanTun is three stories and offers sixteen apartments for rent. The first floor is essentially the basement; it houses the individual storage lockers, mail, and laundry facilities. The second floor, accessible by stairs on Bellevue, is at grade with the parking spots in the alley. All entrances are open air on the north side of the building and on this second level. The back of the building offers a common green space for tenants. On the day of my visit, I was able to view one of the second floor units. This one bedroom, one bathroom boasts a large living space, built in shelving, and a modest, but very functional kitchen. The bedroom is large and has tons of closet space. The bathroom is more than adequate. W/S/G are bundled and are additional cost. Electricity is billed through Seattle City Light, with all appliances and heat being electric. There is even storage included in the price of rent. Both covered parking and uncovered parking are available for an extra fee. At the time of writing this, the unit in my photos is available for $1125 per month. If you are interested, please contact Batchel to set up a viewing.
Below is a photo gallery of the interior, storage, green space, and the back of the building.
