Important Education Opportunities for Landlords
I have a very important update today. As you may (or may not) be aware, Seattle Landlord-Tenant Laws are changing all the time. First-Come-First-Served: Is it in? Is it out? What else do you need to be aware of this year?
I found some available classes that you can take for FREE to help you stay educated. Ignorance of the law will not get you out of trouble. Some of these violations can come with heavy fines. It’s true, that you would obviously hire me to be the one to trust to keep you out of trouble BUT self-education and engagement is never a bad idea. The classes for May (below) are for Landlords but if you check out the calendar they have classes for tenants as well. I’ll post again soon with the specifics on tenant focused classes closer to when they happen (JUNE).
If you own a rental unit or you plan to rent all or a part of your home in the near future I highly suggest you attend these classes. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!
ICYMI Classes are FREE!
Here is the info for the upcoming classes for Landlords happening in May.
The Seattle Office for Civil Rights and Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections are providing landlord training about fair housing, fair chance housing, deposit and move-in fees, and other regulatory ordinances related to renting in Seattle. We'll be holding 4 landlord sessions and 4 tenant sessions in 2018.
