I don't know about you, but growing up in Spokane in the 90's gave me a great appreciation for gangster rap. I listened to a lot of other music too, don't get me wrong. I'm not exactly sure what the correlation is. Part if it was always feeling like you were trapped in sprawl. Part of it is most definitely the heat and the beautiful summer days. Growing up in the west, I've always had a small pull to live in Los Angles. I've been lucky enough to visit a couple times this past year, and I've visited a bunch as a kid. LA never disappoints. It's magical and overwhelming. It gets too hot and there is way too much concrete. But I love hearing people describe why they love LA so much. This is of course with the exception of Randy Newman. Check out this quick video of Ice Cube talking about why he loves LA and Charles and Ray Eames. It marries two of my favorite things Ice Cube and Mid Century Modern design, oh yeah, and LA.

Spacefinder - A new tool for finding the cultural space you need.
This is HUGE News!
The Office of Arts & Culture Seattle has created a new website that is going to greatly change the way we share art space in Seattle. Whether you are looking for a few hours or a few months, a pop up shop, or a welding studio, this site is a one stop collection.
There are not a whole lot of available spaces at the moment. I can see this service growing immensely in the coming months and years. I'm really excited for this service. If you think finding an apartment is tough, you should try and look for a shell space that is safe, clean, and not $1M. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but you know what I mean.
Now that this is live, we need the same type of local site for apartments. Zillow, CL, Trulia, You're not cutting it.
